Our Favorite Dog Parks in Philadelphia
When I’m not selling Luxury Homes or working with investors, I have two pups that I love spending time with and they love the dog parks that Philly has. We provide responsive and attentive Real Estate services, but we are attentive to what dogs need in Philadelphia. Philadelphia has so many dog parks that it can be hard to pick which one to go with your furry friend. In this article, we’ve narrowed it down and identified the top five Philadelphia dog parks that are worth visiting!

Schuylkill River Park is my dog’s favorite dog park in Philadelphia and most dog owners agree with my dogs. The park is an unleashed park so your dogs get to roam freely. The grass is astroturf which is great because your dog won’t come home full of mud (most of the time). The park has an area for small dogs and a separate area for large dogs. On hot days the park has doggie pools and there is always water available. The park is located at 300 South 25th Street.

Orianna Hill Dog Run (also known as Orianna Hill Park) is a great park located in Northern Liberties. It does take a little work for your dog to gain access to this park: there is a registration form to fill out and a brief orientation. The park is great for puppies and just as good for humans due to the picnic tables and benches. The park is located at 901-13 North Orianna Street.

Clark Park is one of Philadelphia’s most popular dog parks. The dog bowl is the main attraction here for dogs and their owners. Dog’s love playing here off of their leashes however be sure to watch after your dog as this area is not fenced in. The park is located at Chester Avenue and 43rd Street.

Wissahickon Valley Park isn’t technically a dog park, but is always a great place for dogs and owners of dogs to hike due to the 1800 acres of land here. Wissahickon Valley Park also offers free parking to visitors who want to take their pooch on a hike through the woods! Dog’s must be leashed here, yet there is tons of private space where you can let your dog off of their leash where they are known to swim. The park is beautiful and be sure to check out Forbidden Drive Trail. The park is everywhere with multiple areas to get in. GPS Valley Green Parking which is the best place to park. You will also find bathrooms, a snack bar, and the Vallley Green Inn (where you will often see weddings taking place).

Second Chance Pool is a great place for dogs to cool off in Philadelphia or to work off the cabin fever in the winter. All dogs must have an examination and show proof of vaccines before swimming in the pool. You can even swim in the pool with your dog. It is located at Philadelphia Animal Hospital at 7401 Holstein Avenue.
